RBZ throws Mpilo cancer unit lifeline

THE Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has thrown Mpilo Central Hospital’s cancer unit a lifeline by providing the $63 000 required to fix its radiography machine, a week after a local MP’s impassioned plea in Parliament for Government to assist. In an interview yesterday, Mpilo chief executive officer Mr Leonard Mabandi said they received foreign currency from the RBZ and they had already deposited the money into the bank account of a South African company that has been contracted to repair the machine. BULAWAYO businessman, Oricious Moyo, who shot his lover’s husband resulting in his death was yesterday further remanded in custody to October 31 pending his application for bail at the High Court.
