A mum has been shamed for sharing photos of her stretch marks but she refuses to cover them up as they inspiring others
Chelsea Outram is a mum and model from Rochdale in Greater Manchester.
But despite her success, she’s still found herself targeted by cruel trolls on the internet who have shamed the way she looks.
And there’s one thing in particular these men and women have taken issue with – the stretch marks on her stomach.
The mum, who has over 64,000 followers on Instagram loves to post selfies online, but has also been sharing photos of her body to inspire fellow mums to love themselves.
However not everyone has been a fan of her pictures and she’s received several vile messages about them.
Speaking to Fabulous Digital, Chelsea said: “I have men commenting saying, ‘ew’ and women saying, ‘men don’t want to see this,’ but I’m not doing it for men so it all goes over my head.
“The worst thing was probably, ‘this is why you’re single, men don’t want to see this kind of stomach, stick to selfies’.
But I don’t do it to get validation from men, it’s strictly to help women and mums and anyone who’s struggling.”
Despite the hate, the curvy mum has received a lot of praise for showing off her ‘tiger stripes’ online and she described the response to her first stomach-baring snap as “amazing”.
“I had so many women reach out about how it inspired them,” she explained. “People see influencers as being perfect, so they say seeing me with these flaws and being able to embrace them, helped on their journey for self-love.”
A recent post of her stretch marks garnered more than 6,000 likes.
One person wrote: “Ain’t nothin’ some real men haven’t seen before. Keep shining queen.”
Another commented: “This is a true depiction of realness right there. Love it!”
A third said: “Amazing. When all you see on insta are these perfect girls you forget what a real woman looks like.”
“Beautiful and authentic,” posted a fourth person.
