THE Bulawayo City Council has formulated a policy designed to raise foreign currency through giving a 50 percent discount to individuals who pay bills in United States dollars after service providers allegedly started demanding forex. The local authority yesterday said the scheme mainly targets diasporans who pay their bills directly to the municipality from their foreign bases. Under the policy, BCC would also demand partial payment for land in foreign currency. 30 PEOPLE have died after a Brooklyn Express bus was reduced to ashes near West Nicholson area in Gwanda on Thursday night. Civil Protection Unit director Mr Nathan Nkomo confirmed the number of the deceased with the government releasing $15 000 to their families for funeral expenses. Over 180‚000 Zimbabwean nationals living in South Africa have applied for official documentation to allow them to stay‚ work‚ study and conduct businesses legally in the country‚ the department of home affairs said on Thursday. THE High Court has relaxed the bail conditions of Bulawayo businessman Oricious Moyo who allegedly shot his lover’s husband resulting in his death.
